IDP IELTS always strives to make your experience as smooth as possible. Keeping this mind, we have taken another digital leap and simplified the process of your test date transfer and cancellation. Now you can transfer/cancel your test date online with just a few clicks.

IDP IELTS provides candidates with the option to transfer, reschedule, or cancel their test date, subject to the applicable timelines, fees, and refund conditions.

Candidates may apply for cancellation and refund either through the Candidate Login section or by submitting the Test Date Transfer & Cancellation/Refund Application Form to the Centre.

Requests are processed in accordance with the policy applicable to the selected test type. New test dates are subject to availability and Centre approval where applicable.

IELTS on Computer, IELTS on Computer (Writing on Paper), One Skill Retake (OSR)

The following transfer rules apply for IELTS:

• 15 or more days before Listening, Reading, Writing Test Date- Free Transfer is allowed.

• Within 5 - 14 days of Listening, Reading, Writing Test Date Transfer allowed – an administrative fee up to 25 % of test fee paid is charged.

• Within 4 days of the Listening, Reading, Writing Test Date No Transfer allowed – any transfer during this period is treated as a cancellation.

IELTS on Computer for UKVI/ IELTS for Life Skills/ OSR - UKVI

• More than 14 days before the test:

  • Candidates can transfer their test date at any time more than 14 days before the test. Please select a test date, where available, within the next three months from the original test date.

  • If the preferred test date is more than three months after the original test date, then the transfer will be treated as a cancellation.

  • Candidates can only transfer the same booking once.

  • An administration fee of up to 25% of the total test fee will be charged.

• Within 14 days before the test:

  • Any transfer requests within 14 days of the test will be treated as a cancellation.

IELTS on Computer/ IELTS on Computer (Writing on Paper)/ One Skill Retake (OSR)

The following cancellation rules apply for IELTS:

• 15 or more days before Listening, Reading, Writing Test Date, Cancellation is allowed – an administration fee of up to 25% of the total test fee will be charged.

• Within 14 days of Listening, Reading, Writing Test Date Cancellation is allowed – Test fee is non-refundable.

IELTS on Computer for UKVI/ IELTS for Life Skills/ OSR - UKVI

• If the request is received at least 14 days prior to the test date, 25% of the test fee will be deducted, and the remaining amount including applicable taxes will be refunded within 7 to 10 working days from the date of request.

• Detailed Cancellation & Refund Policy:

  • More than 14 days before the test: 75% refund of the total test fee.

  • Within 14 days but more than 2 days before the test: 50% refund of the total test fee.

  • Within 2 days of the test date: 25% refund of the total test fee.

  • On the test day or after the test: No refund will be issued.

Incomplete, illegible, or unsupported requests may be delayed or declined. Approval of supporting documents does not automatically guarantee approval of a transfer, cancellation, or refund request, which remains subject to the applicable policy and Centre approval.
